I completely ignored this poor Hydrangea! I did cut all the old dead growth, something that obviously hadn’t been done in YEARS! It is located in the backyard behind the kitchen, an area I all but ignored! I was so busy with the inside of the house and the rest of the yard. Now, this area won’t be avoided for long, as it may be the site of a greenhouse…
The entire area between the kitchen and the old shed (GEEZ!) is another project… With the huge overhangs, there is plenty of shade along the house after a certain time of day. There is a sidewalk that goes from the laundry room door to a gate that leads to the west side of the yard. On the other side of the sidewalk is a spot that gets a tremendous amount of sun! Almost as much as the front yard. This is the only spot in the yard, besides the front yard, that is always in full sun…and it is behind the house! Figure that out!
