Preferences: Best grown in temperatures above 65 degrees. Have a strong root system.
This variety of Banana has done very well for me. The leaves are a darker green with maroon markings. I have it in a pot, probably to small, but it hasn’t complained. It just keeps on growing and staying nice and healthy looking. Wellspring has special fertilizer which I have been adding. The Williams Hybrid is one of the most widely grown and can produce between 60-90 pounds or more very sweet bananas per year. Their mature height of 6-10 feet also makes them ideal to grow either outside or in pots. Now, even though this is hardy in zones 6-10 and it is the most widely grown commercial variety, I don’t believe there are any grown that produce bananas in North America.
