Preferences: Believe it or not this baby likes full sun to, part shade. If you keep them in pots, keep them in a tray of rainwater if possible, or distilled water at all times. I have read not to fertilize them OR put anything in their pitchers. They eat what insects go in, but don’t need any help. I always have pots, buckets, etc. sitting around catching water then I pour it containers so I will have plenty of rain water on hand.
I always wanted to grow Pitcher Plants and I am delighted with these from Wellspring Gardens. During the summer I had them sitting on a table in the back yard. They were in full morning sun and shade in the afternoon. I am sure I have babied them to much because they seem so fragile when they may not be. They have not grown that much, I am not sure if it is normal of if I am doing something wrong. They have continued growing new leaves and blooming from the time I received them right up till now. They are STILL in the same little pots they came in. There are MANY more varieties of Pitcher Plants that I want to add to my collection, so if anyone has any suggestions, growing experiences, etc. PLEASE make a comment! Maybe we can start a Pitcher Plant Blog!
