FAMILY: Euphorbiaceae
GENUS: Euphorbia
SPECIES: nicaeensis x seguieriana
CULTIVAR: ‘Blue Haze’
COMMON NAME: Spurge
Euphorbias are good plants for the low maintenance perennial garden. There are many varieties to choose from with different leaf and bloom colors.
The variety I purchased is the cultivar ‘Blue Haze’ because it was my only choice! They have blue-green leaves and chartreuse flowers. They grow to around 18 inches tall. They are drought tolerant and like poor well-drained soil in a sunny location. They are cold hardy in zones 7-9.
A milky-white sap bleeds from the stems when cut that can cause a rash for people with sensitive skin or if you have latex allergies.
