FAMILY: Tropaeolaceae
GENUS: Tropaeolum
SPECIES: majus
COMMON NAME: Nasturtium
CULTIVAR: Tall Trailing
This is the first year I have planted this variety. I have read stories of them trailing to over 50′! I thought it would be neat to have planters on the balcony and have them trail all the way down to the floor. Well, I don’t think they will do that here in one season!
I am attempting to over winter them in the pots in the sun room and MAYBE put them on the balcony in the spring. We’ll see!
It seemed like all the first blooms, and up till mid-summer were all orange. Then when the weather started cooling down a bit, the others started blooming. There are at least 6 plants in each of the two pots. Below are some of the other colors.
The date in the pictures is wrong. I borrowed Sara’s camera and the date is not set correctly and I didn’t know that when I took the pictures! The last 5 pictures were taken in 12-16-09…
Although I have been moving the pots in and out of the sun room, depending on the temperature, they have continued to bloom.
