The pictures in the page shows what the mansion looked like after it was arranged…well kind of. I kept dragging boxes from the attic, and Suzanne and I would unpack them at the bottom of the stairs. I would put what we unpacked in piles according to which room it went in. The items she didn’t want to keep were re-packed in boxes and sent to the front porch. As I would take what she was keeping to the room she wanted them in, she kept telling me not to tell her there was no more room. Well, I didn’t tell her even though we were running out of room. I just did my best to find a spot for everything.
As you view the pages of ROOM BY ROOM, keep in mind that this has been a “work in progress” . I know some of the pictures look very unorganized and like a big mess. You should have saw it before I started!
Suzanne had LOTS of grapes, so I just put them here and there.

A friend told me about your web-site. My husband and I are English and have lived in Greenville since the ’94 ice-storm. Of course, I was fascinated to read about Stoke as we visited that area when we were on vacation last year. Will you ever give tours of the mansion – we have relatives here from England at the moment. Please let us know when you will be holding the auction – we are always keen to give treasures a new home.
Very glad to hear from you! Come anytime! The first auction is going to be April 24!
